The Criteria of Meaningful Statements

This is a philosophical topic but it is really quite simple.  When one maintains a position regardless of any evidence to the contrary, one is generally thought to be irrational and to be making meaningless statements.  Thus, if you assert that the Interface always wears a solid green tie (I do have one and I do occasionally wear it), and will maintain that to be a true statement even if I show up with a blue tie, or no tie whatsoever, you will be thought, at best, to have a tenuous grasp on reality and it is to be hoped that you do not have a driver’s license!

So what to do when you see statements like this on a website post that supports the concept of anthropogenic “climate change” (aka, globaloney warming…before it was globaloney cooling…before…oh, never mind!):

And as the globe continues to warm, we in DC and our counterparts in London might just need to get used to frigid winters.

Now, I’m sure someone like Piker will try to point out that this clearly is talking about local climate change being influenced by large scale weather activity.  But “globe” is hardly local and either “the globe” is warming or its not.  And if it is warming in some areas and cooling in others, what’s the big deal?  It’s always done that!  In addition, I would point out that all the globaloney warming hype shrills on and on about seas rising, hurricanes increasing in number and various and sundry other catastrophic global changes (all of which have been shown to be inaccurate at best; see last post on globaloney warming for examples), all revolving around things melting and temperatures rising globally.  Which is why the above encroaches into the realm of knee-slapping LOL meaninglessness.  Meanwhile, it was just a few years ago that same London and its surrounds was in dire straits due to warming, not cooling!

Talk about flip-flopping!

UPDATE:  Relive the wonders of yesteryear with this delightfully ironic post about how “Snowfalls are now just a thing of the past” for poor Great Britain, caught in the clutches of Globaloney Warming caused by greedy anthropomorphs!  Meanwhile, back in reality….

The green delusion was alive and well at Cancun. CFACT floated a phony petition among the delegates which asked them to sign on to banning di-hydrogen monoxide. Seriously! Water!!

I guess climate science doesn’t include chemistry. LOL!
