Good Question!

From Mark Steyn over at NRO:

Easily Reconciled   [Mark Steyn]

Kathryn, re Sam Donaldson panting for presidential “ruthlessness,” I tend to agree with Andy McCarthy’s post from a couple of days ago. In shoving health care down the throats of the American people in the teeth of overwhelming public opposition and any sense of parliamentary decency, the Democrats are in effect taking a bet on Republican wussiness — that, whatever passes, the GOP will have no stomach to undo, no matter the scale of their victory in November.

That seems to me an entirely rational calculation. The Dems will be punished; the Republicans will take over the committee chairmanships and be content, as they often are, to be in office rather than in power; and after a brief time out the Democrats will return to find their new statist behemoth still in place. From their point of view, it makes perfect sense.

The question is: What are Republicans willing to do about it?

“The question is: What are Republicans willing to do about it?”

Well, allow me to reply in verse, a rarity, and thankfully so.

    Republicans, huh, yeah
    What are they good for
    Absolutely nothing
    Uh-huh
    Say it again, y’all

    Republicans, huh, good God
    What are they good for
    Absolutely nothing
    Listen to me

    Ohhh, CINOs, I despise
    Because they mean the destruction
    Of Constitutional freedoms

    CINOs means taxes
    To millions of honest Americans
When their money goes to parasites
    And they lose their livelihoods

    I said, Republicans, huh
    Good God, y’all
    What are they good for
    Absolutely nothing
    Say it again

    CINOs, aren’t nothing
    But heartbreakers
CINOs, friend only to the progressives
    Ooooh, CINOs
They’re an enemy to all Constitutional rights and freedoms
The point of CINOs blows my mind
    CINOs have caused unrest
    Within the younger generation
    Capitulation and then destruction
    Who wants to vote
    Aaaaah, Republicans-huh
    Good God y’all
    What are they good for
    Absolutely nothing
Say it, say it, say it

CINOs, they aren’t nothing but a heartbreaker
    CINOs, they’ve got one friend
    That’s the Dems
    Ooooh, CINOs, have shattered
Many a young Tea Partier’s dreams
Made him disenfranchised, bitter and mean
Life is much to short and precious
To spend fighting CINOs these days
    Republicans can’t give life
They can only tax it away

    Ooooh, Republicans, huh
    Good God y’all
    What are they good for
    Absolutely nothing
    Say it again

CINOs, they aren’t nothing but a heartbreaker
CINOs, friend only to the Dems
The Constitution, love of liberty and understanding of laws
Tell me, is there no place for them today
They say we must fight to keep our freedom
But the CINOs know the Dems got a better way
